"Bittersweet" has a very pleasing, "painterly" feel, in the sense that the brushstrokes are active and relate the texture of the leaves. I like the colours, especially the almost complimentary juxtaposition of the dark green and bright orange/red. The single paler leaf gives the whole composition an unexpected extra depth.

This gallery is growing, with pizzazz! In the newest addition, "Bittersweet", the leaves have a wonderful papery tactility, and the berries have an edible glow. Like the other compositions in this elegant on-line gallery, the subject matter has a luminous, floating quality. Brava!
